Story Telling.

To be able to tell a story in a foreign language is no easy matter. But it is a very good thing to practise story-writing. You can do it slowly and carefully, and when you are satisfied with it, you can tell it to other people.

It is very easy to find stories on which to practise. You must have in your memory many stories which you learnt in your childhood. However simple they are, they are worth putting into English. You would be wise if you kept a special notebook in which you could keep your own translations of the stories. You might also keep another notebook for English stories that please you. You could begin with anecdotes, which you should copy into this notebook. Some anecdotes are most striking, and make a stronger impression than a longer story.
