Direct Object and Indirect Object.
Some transitive verbs have two objects, called the Direct and the Indirect Objects. In the sentence: Please lend me this book; ‘book’ is the Direct Object; ‘me’ is the Indirect Object.
Examples.
We sent him some mangoes.
Ask me no questions.
Everybody gave those boys a bad name.
Tell me a nice story, please.
